Here’s what Salt Lake Pretty is all about:

Utah life is share-worthy. We have stunning mountain landscapes, delicious local foods, and quaint independent shops. Salt Lake Pretty is a collection of ideas that fit our Southwest lifestyle and feature the best Salt Lake has to offer.

This is a lifestyle blog for real life – which means it’s for everyday women and our everyday activities. There won’t be any selfies with couture handbags, nor will there be flip flop features when there is two feet of snow on the ground.

Salt Lake Pretty promotes positive, respectful attitudes. There is no nitpicking or bashing of body types, celebrities, or labels. There is, however, plenty of happiness and humor. Feel free to join in the snark-free fun.

Anything I rave about on Salt Lake Pretty is one that I believe in. I am not paid to advertise or endorse any products. Which means you can trust that my advice is indeed advice – it’s not an ad.

Meet Lis

Before I moved to Utah, I was a pretty typical native Southern Californian: I wore flip flops year-round, worked around the clock so I could barely make my exorbitant rent, and spent more time in traffic than at the beach.

The flip flop part was easy but the rest of my lifestyle wasn’t. I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life feeling overworked and underpaid. I yearned for more meaning and less materialism. And I was done keeping up with the Joneses.

I arrived in Salt Lake City on June 1, 2014, and I’ve loved it here every minute since. I’ve traded in my flip flops for boots, become a regular at our local farmer’s markets, and wiled away entire weekends in the mountains with my dog. I work less and live a hell of a lot more.

And along the way, I’ve discovered that a simpler lifestyle suits me. I’ve learned to cook, hike, paddle board, and even plan my retirement. I work much less and make much more. I spend my days at a job I love, my nights sharing my best advice with you, and my weekends going on adventures.

Now it’s time for me to share everything I’ve learned with you – from finances to fashion, recipes to relationships. I’m here to help you create a life you love. Because pretty and practical aren’t mutually exclusive – you really can have both.

Cheers, Lis
